I arrived home this last Tuesday night after spending a week in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. I presented a workshop on social media for writers, gave private consultations, and was part of a “Women Write Their Lives” speakers panel during the International Writer’s Conference held in this beautiful city in the heart of Mexico.

For the past four days I have been catching up on my work, my sleep, and have been struggling to find the right words to describe my experiences in this truly magical place. So for today I will let a few of my photographs do the speaking for me until I find my voice again. To say that San Miguel de Allende won my heart is an understatement. The culture, the beauty of the architecture, the amazing faces, and the kind hearts of the people who live there will forever remain etched inside my soul…

DId the lady in the chicle picture attend the workshop? I’d love to hear the story of her life.

I attended a writer’s workshop there about 4 years ago. It is a wonderful Ex-pat location. Never did I attend a coffee bar or restaurant that didn’t know perfect English. It was fun. The indigenous folks from around SM de A are very interesting. I often wonder if I am related to them. I see them as extended family, not necessarily as landscape. I guess that is why I talked to them when I was there instead of photographing them. Their bright colors would make for an excellent painting though. Jesse
