Just when you thought things couldn’t get worse, they did. Like, a whole lot worse.

The world watched in horror as Trump worshipers stormed the Capitol, disrupted the lawful certification of Joe Biden’s victory, terrorized and trashed the place. Trump had been calling for “wild protests” on January 6th for several weeks. With the exception of the Capitol Police, we all saw it coming.

Earlier, on that infamous day, Trump goosed his groupies one last time at his ridiculously titled, “Save America” rally. Drippy, drunk Rudy called for ‘trial by combat.’ Dumb-as-rocks Don Junior urged daddy’s knuckle-draggers to send a message to Congress to stop the steal. Trump Senior closed with, “We’re going to walk to the Capitol. I’ll be there with you.”

But President Bone Spurs was never, ever, going to get close to any kind of danger. I envision him gleefully watching it unfold on TV in the White House residence with a bowl of Cheetos perched on his big belly and a Diet Coke in his tiny hand. Most likely it was both tiny hands. We’ve all seen him drink a glass of water.

I visited the Capitol a few years back with my dear, sadly now departed, friend Carole. She was a local and I loved seeing it with her, as she shared her knowledge of its history. We whispered in the balcony of the House of Representatives, lunched at the sprawling cafeteria, and bought our $1 pocket U.S. Constitutions at the gift shop.

As pure evil ravaged our democracy – right in front of our eyes – I felt such despair for that special place. Somehow this horrible, evil man managed to outdo himself after his four years of terrible tragedies and endless disappointments.

And then, with yet another punch to lady liberty’s gut, MSNBC’s Joy Reid pointed out the discrepancy in how law enforcement treats black, peaceful protestors. She, Anderson Cooper, Joe Scarborough, and others, as well as President-Elect Biden, are absolutely right.

In June, U.S. Park Police and the National Guard stormed peaceful, Black Lives Matter protestors at Lafayette Square with tear gas to clear the way for President Scaredy Pants to hold a borrowed bible upside down for a minute.

Nonviolent BLM protestors have been pushed, punched, clubbed, pepper-sprayed, beaten, tear-gassed, harassed, shot with rubber bullets, and arrested for years. But on this day, law enforcement helped these, mostly white, terrorists into the building. They escorted MAGA hags down the stairs, took selfies with Confederate-flag-clad thugs, and washed the tear gas from their stinging, soulless eyes.

Yes, Black America, you have been telling us your truth all these years and we weren’t listening. But we are now. We see you, we hear you, and we stand with you.

But as for the Trump toady who sat with his feet up on the desk in Speaker Pelosi’s office; who ripped her name plaque off the wall; who dragged out the podium from the House; who declared he had a right to the lawlessness because Congress worked for him – we condemn you. And for that shirtless, painted idiot wearing Nordic horns on his head and screaming wildly into the cameras, we can only hope, for her sake, that your mother is dead. Thus spared the humiliation.

Forty-three years ago, another cult leader with weird hair convinced over 900 of his followers to drink Kool-Aid laced with cyanide (not bleach.) Jim Jones’ minions, of which 300 were innocent children, peacefully searched for a Utopia and blindly followed Jones to Guyana, South America where they died in a mass suicide.

Trump’s sycophants are racists, anarchists, conspiracy-theorists, haters, and misogynists. This past Wednesday, their loser leader heaped praise on them after they violently overtook Congress. “We love you,” gushed Trump, “You’re very special.”

The only thing special about you is your place in hell.

How any Republican senator/leader can support Trump after this, is beyond belief. I’m worried there is going to be more violence and killings still to come. I’m very concerned for the safety of Biden and Harris and for other innocent Americans.

As always writing with a purpose! Love your missives. Truth will set us all free. Can’t wait until Trump is gone for good.
