A vote for Trump is a vote for COVID-19

By now, those among us capable of critical and analytical thinking – or just willing to believe reality – have figured out that Donald Trump – the orange pustule on the derriere of this country – is the worst president in our relatively short national history. No need to list his evils – just go out and find Amy Siskind’s The List. She wrote a book by the same name but the list of horrors has gone on so long and egregiously that she has a site to keep track of them all.

We also now know that DT (delirium tremens?) knew about COVID-19 at the beginning of 2020 or before and he did nothing. All his protestations of not wanting to cause a panic are little more than protecting his gelid ass – reality is, he was worried about votes. Why else would he do everything he could to stop testing that would reflect the real numbers. We still have no idea of the real numbers. Add to it his move to obstruct all help – it’s so complex and ugly that most of us, including me, can’t even keep all the details straight, although my memory of disappearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) only to find out it was sent abroad or sold and withholding help from states where the governors wouldn’t kiss his mango ass come to mind. And let’s not forget his admonition to give Lysol, bleach, and a flashlight a try. No wonder Dr. Fauci despairs.

We’re at the 218,000 mark for those we’ve lost and there’s no indication that this won’t double or even triple before a reliable treatment or vaccine can be found – promising trials aside, these things simply take time and a complex new virus requires study because rush it and they will miss something crucial. That this is an anguishing state of affairs is a given, but there’s a bigger picture.

October 15, 2020 capture of COVID-19 statistics from Google

Remember when the USA was a country people could rely on for help? World crises brought an immediate response. I remember seeing cargo planes full of medical supplies, food, and shelter delivered to people in trouble. Now? Not so much. In fact, as far as I can tell, not at all unless the orange pustule can use it as a bargaining chip.

Secondary to this is how the orange pustule, Moscow Mitch, and other traitorous Republican corporate shills gutted our budget by slicing the taxes of the megarich to virtually nothing while piling it on us – we who cannot sustain the budget on our own in part because of the decimated state of income equality. We barely have the resources now to help ourselves and our deficit has exploded (see this bipartisan deficit tracker for a terrifying picture of our reality: Bipartisanpolicy.org Deficit Tracker. This is no surprise – our deficits have reliably expanded exponentially under Republican presidents, but as painful as it is for me to say, not a one of them can compete with the tangerine terror for the egregious rate. (Now tell me, please, who’s going to pay for this? Good luck looking your kids in the eye after reading what’s on that link.)

So, we actually can’t really afford to help anybody despite anyone with a smidge of empathy dearly wanting to.

We used to be a light unto the world. It was a mendacious and soiled light – just look into all the vile interferences we’ve perpetrated on sovereign governments (take a look at our history with Chile, for one). But generally, although we were disliked, we also had a lot of people worldwide who had an admiration for our experiment in democracy (yes, I know we’re a republic – don’t hijack my point).  The number of people worldwide who dreamed of coming here should serve as an example.

Now our own citizens are trying to figure a way out – but we’re anathema for our poor COVID-19 protocols and the world actually doesn’t want us anywhere near them. Follow this link to see where we could and could not travel as of July, 2020: Matadornetwork.com Map shows weak US passports. We’re pariahs, now – thanks, to pumpkin predator in the White House.

And all of this while the world burns due to climate change that the mango monster has done nothing to ameliorate and much to speed up.

In the end, given how few protocols we have to remove a beast at the helm of our nation, we can do only one thing and that’s vote. Vote Blue. Vote as if your life – and everyone else’s – depends on it. Vote so you can look your children in the eye when you’re done.
