But little girls, if you still want to get to the White House on your own, you better find a strong black woman to be your role model. Ninety-four percent of black women voted for the first woman President. They have survived the most oppression and abuse throughout history, and apparently they’re the only ones who believe, who know, that you can do it. Whatever you do, don’t look to white women to inspire you. More than half of them turned their backs on their own gender and voted for President Pussy-Grabber. There is a whole class of women out there who, sadly, don’t believe they are good enough to be President, so they don’t want you to be, either. They’ll make up excuses, say they had other reasons for voting for President Pussy Grabber, like, maybe they just want a break on their taxes, regardless of the fact that their vote validates a man who sexually assaults women and ran on a campaign of hate and bigotry. Or maybe they just don’t like Muslims or brown people. Many of them are the types who don’t hold other women up, who most likely have very few close female friends, and instead, see every other woman as a threat. Little girls, please don’t look to them for inspiration. Maybe look to them as a lesson of what not to be.
Little girls, this is a very dark time for you in American history. You’re going to have to shut your eyes and ears, and block out the message that America just sent to you: That a woman can’t be President, but the man who would sexually assault her can. Shut out the media, and find your own sheroes. You’re going to have to hold on to a tiny shred of hope, and train your eyes and ears on women like Michele Obama, Malala Yousafzai, Elizabeth Warren, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Kamala Harris – and remember the words of the very wisest woman, Maya Angelou, who told us:
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.
Yes. Hold on to these words. Don’t be defeated. This election has sent us hurling back, way back, and President Pussy-Grabber may want to send you even further to the back of the line, stripping you of your reproductive rights and independence, but stay strong, little girls. Remember that you create life in your womb. You are the embodiment of strength and creativity. You are the beautiful balance of wisdom and compassion. You stand on the shoulders of your mothers and grandmothers and the Suffragettes before you, who were strong enough to survive generations of being told their voices didn’t matter. Little girls, don’t listen to the message America has just sent you. Let this dark era make you stronger, wiser, and more courageous. Let it make you fierce and determined. Believe the words Hillary Clinton told you on the night she was nominated “To every little girl who dreams big: Yes, you can be anything you want – even President.” I hope to God I’ll live to see the day you win.

I worry for the little girls being raised by Trump voters…
