Democrats And Their Hopes In 2020

    Democrat Hopefuls Running For 2020

So have you had enough of the sideshow? How will you take two years of “I told you so?” Did you even prepare for the possibility that Mueller would not find a bunch of smoking guns, load the bullets, and aim it for you? Did you even consider that short of a finding of “high crimes and treason,” the Senate was going to be under Trump/McConnell’s firm rule? Were you listening to Nancy Pelosi when she made clear that she was not for impeachment?

It is time to come back down to the real world. The Mueller investigation has been a sideshow that had a very low chance of scoring a knockout punch against Trump. It would have taken a clearly defined path to collusion to begin to temper Republican support for Trump. Mueller has been painted as some kind of savior, able to do what decades of real cops and investigators haven’t, which is nail Trump. We see how that is working out.

Summary? The report is out and Trump won’t be going anywhere. If anything, he will be louder, meaner, cruder, and as far as he is concerned, the one and only “Teflon Don.”

In the short game, it would seem that the huge losers are people like Schiff, Beto and other Democrats that have recently called Trump a Russian collaborator. Well Beto, how are you going to work your campaign out of that corner you painted yourself into? It isn’t as if you can carry Texas on any issue. As to Rep. Schiff, you are still calling Trump “guilty?” What summary of the final Mueller Report are you reading? Instead of that long awaited victory over Trump, Democrats have given him a higher cause, vengeance.

It is clear that many Democrats are still not listening to Rep. Nancy Pelosi. Pelosi, the ranking Democrat and Speaker of the House of Representatives, has repeatedly stated she was not in favor of impeachment. Could the leader of the Democrat Party’s point of view on impeachment be any clearer than the following quote?

I’m not for impeachment. This is news. I’m going to give you some news right now because I haven’t said this to any press person before. But since you asked, and I’ve been thinking about this: Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country. And he’s just not worth it.
    Rep. Nancy Pelosi – March 11, 2019

Instead Democrats appear to be fixated on finding a path to impeachment instead of trying to put up exceptional candidates for the next round of elections. From day one of Trump’s campaign, Democrats have missed the mark, trying to “out-policy” the Donald Trump show. Trump was never about policy, he was about popularity. While Democrats strategists crafted policies, Donald Trump’s strategists fed what appears to be an excellent group of show writers, seeds for the next “episode” of “The Apprentice President.”

Trump has pulled the Democrat Party and the nation around with the same three-ring circus approach that made his television show popular. His campaign and now presidency has used social media, outlandish behavior, despicable spokespeople, and a blatant disregard for the truth to distract and con everyone.

In the meantime, one of the lamest rosters of hopeful Democrat Presidential candidates is incapable of raising their message above Trump’s “I told you so.” These Democrat hopefuls rehash of the same old, leftover platforms that only former Barack Obama could push through with his indomitable focus and class.

NONE of the current candidates have as much class, character, or likeability as Barack Obama has. None of the candidates has anything that distinguishes them from each other, with the possible exception of Sanders. Unfortunately for Democrats, Sen. Bernie Sanders is too far Left, too old, and way too comfortable with the word “socialist” to really matter. As to other Democratic hopefuls, their position is now additionally burdened by their affiliation with the party they seek to represent in 2020.

Awesome job, Democrats! You dug a deep hole and are still digging, but now there is no light above, just Trump’s ass. You know what is coming and there isn’t anywhere to run. You can raise all the money you want, but you can’t buy the limelight away from President Trump. At best you can spend away, testing which of you is the least boring and most likely not to embarrass the Democrat Party in 2020 elections should Trump run again.

Democrats better find their focus or in 2020 they could lose their margin in the House and a few seats in the Senate. Don’t believe the current hype — in the end the Mueller investigation could be the best thing that ever happened to Republican chances in 2020.
