Fascinated by nature’s treasures
I’ve long been fascinated by insects… the honey bee carrying a load of pollen or nectar back to her colony, the dragonfly circling a pond and catching its prey in mid-flight, a butterfly sipping nectar from a zinnia or a Tithonia.
I’m a guest in their world and I like to capture them in their habitat with my digital cameras. I don’t poke ’em, prod ’em or pin ’em. I marvel that insects existed more than 400 million years ago. Can you imagine? Four hundred million years ago?
Some folks crave expensive jewelry, designer clothing and cruise vacations. Not me. The real treasures are in nature, and the real joy is being around insects. We can learn a lot from them.
