He threw the last punch too hard
I am a fine arts/documentary photographer. My current project, “He Threw the Last Punch Too Hard,” began 10 years ago when I started to photograph my mother, as I was attempting to heal our relationship.
I was 9 years old when my mother left my father for another man. From the ages of 9 to 14, I witnessed my mother’s second husband abuse her on the weekends I spent with them. The man she left us for beat her so badly that she suffered permanent brain damage and had to moved into an aging facility at the age of 41.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. I am grateful to be partnering with FotoEvidence to publish this project, as I was given the FotoEvidence W Award finalist award. The Kickstarter has eight days left to fund my book. Please watch my four-minute video and consider backing the campaign. Every backer shows the publisher proof of demand.
