Paul Manafort and the slam-dunk reelection of President Trump

There was a time when I avoided all manner of politics and current events from the professional chattering classes. And today, I wake up and find out that Paul Manafort has been found guilty of numerous crimes. On top of that, President Trump’s attorney, Michael Cohen, broke campaign finance laws in order to pay hush money to two women Trump allegedly had.

Every single liberal Democrat friend of mine got out their beer-bong and began to party. Um, why are we having a three-day block party again?

Let’s put on some coffee and sober up a bit first to realize the reality of our political existences.

On the one hand, I’m glad to see Paul Manafort get convicted of his money schemes. Manafort basically used this current political environment to commit bank and tax fraud. In other words, he did some straight up rich capitalist shit. I don’t even want to mention the Cohen fiasco here with the exception of simply saying he how stupid he was. Campaign money to buy the sex workers’ silence?

I’m wondering how much money they had to use to get the fake orange spray tan off their bodies.

Here is my question with everyone cheer-leading the conviction of Manafort and the plea of Cohen. What are Democrats going to run on in 2018 and 2020?

Oh, yeah, the mid-terms are coming and then the presidential elections are right after that. However, there is barely any mention of this from any politician’s Facebook or Twitter aside from saying the blue wave is a-comin’ or it’s only a matter of time before President Trump gets either impeached or arrested.

Should I mention that currently the Republicans have the House, Senate, and the Supreme Court on lock? That’s some dynamic political cover for President Trump’s alleged crimes. This guy is more insulated than ten feet of fiberglass. Teflon Donald, right?

So instead of people speaking on topics of the economy, the fact that the earth is on fire, the rise of white nationalism and so on, we can basically hope that the American political system can score a triple bank shot to sink the eight ball.

Good luck, Minnesota Fats. The Democrats will scratch hard and we’ll have another four years of this bullshit.

There’s barely any talk about Medicare for all except from Democratic Socialists. No talk about a living wage. No talk about how undemocratic the electoral college is in an age of mass media that reproduces itself faster than a nanosecond.

All I ever hear is how President Trump is the greatest evil of all time. It’s kinda like the moment in 2004 when G.W. Bush was the greatest evil of all time. He was so evil that the Democrats sent in the mighty Harvard debate team captain John Kerry to vanquish G.W. Bush, whom currently has a higher body count than President Trump, but I’ll get into the liberal hypocrisy of cheering for G.W. Bush another time.

What is the currently strategy of trying to push back against Trump? My problem with the Democratic party is that they are so obviously lazy and too tied to corporate power that they have no counter-argument to the current political climate.

It’s kinda like the mid-terms are the final exam and the Democrats are slacker freshman who don’t give a shit and won’t bother studying.

We might as well get on our knees and pray toward Trump Towers four times a day. If the Democrats had a spine, they would actually engage in some class warfare with these assholes.
